ABOUT
My practice investigates the porous boundaries between language, gesture, and performativity. I approach each work as a palimpsest, layered, marked, and continually reshaped by experience, reflecting the construction of identity. Language is never static; it breathes, shifts, and resists. I engage with it not only as communication but as a physical and emotional force.
Balancing precision and spontaneity, the meditative control of ink and nib coexists with the energy of calligraphy and paint. Gesture and materiality guide my mark-making, revealing emotions and memories beneath the surface. Painting becomes a choreography of breath, repetition, and movement, where words and form intertwine before settling into place.
Influences from Gestural Abstraction, particularly Cy Twombly, support a liberated approach, while feminist theory, including Laura Mulvey, provides a lens to examine visibility and power. Poetry and literature—from Angelou to Mandelstam and Brodsky—shape the cadence and emotional resonance of my work.

I explore identity, memory, and the tension between revelation and concealment, giving form to the unseen forces that shape us.
